Volunteer Work to Support Women and Children

PHOEBE relies heavily on a dedicated team of volunteers who donate their time and energy to help us deliver the crucial programmes and services which support the women and children around Suffolk. Our volunteers are absolutely vital to us carrying out our support services, whether we're offering domestic violence counselling or organising activities for our youth group

Why should I get involved in local volunteering?

If you have the time, enthusiasm and skills to invest in charity volunteer work, you can gain a useful and enriching experience in return, especially by making new friends with similar interests! In addition to expanding your social circle, you'll be learning valuable new skills and strengthening your CV  most importantly, you'll gain a real sense of satisfaction by contributing to dedicated women's charity.

Am I qualified to volunteer with PHOEBE?

We accept a range of people to our charity volunteering opportunities, whether you're looking to volunteer to gain work experience, a student on placement, a part-time worker, a woman with specific skills or a retired woman who wants to give something back to the community. If you have an interest in making a difference to the lives of vulnerable women and children in your local area, we want to hear from you!

Our current volunteer opportunities include :

  • Board members
  • Project workers
  • Fund raising team leaders
  • Youth workers

Each of us has different skills and talents and our diverse range of charity volunteer work enables you to find the placement most appropriate to your interests. Whether you're great with figures and financial details, experienced in management and administration or passionate about working directly with children, we're confident that you'll love volunteering for PHOEBE!
